  • My approach to therapy is focused and goal-oriented. I want you to experience positive change as quickly as possible. While some people enjoy the ongoing support that therapy offers, others find that they meet their goals within 3 to 6 months.

  • I am not an in-network provider for any insurance ompany but I can accept out-of-network benefits which means you would pay up font for all therapy sessions and be provided a monthly “superbill” that you can submit to you insurance company for reimbursement. For more information, please review the insurance page.

  • There are many reasons behind why someone may want to choose private pay over using insurance. “Private pay” involves paying out of pocket for therapy withot involving an insurance company. Here are a few benefits of using the private pay option:

    • When opting for Private Pay, you have flexibility for scheduling because you won’t be bound to what an insurance company mandates as the maximum number of sessios in a month.

    • Private pay clients have a greater pool of therapists to work with because there are no insurance restrictions.

    • While electronic medical records are kept for all clients, medical records aren't recorded for insurance purposes which provides more privacy for clients who may not want a mental health diagnosis on their health record.

    • Without having the insurance companies involved, there will be no requests for information on treatment which gives clients greater control over the direction of their treatment.

  • Reiki energy healing is a holistic practice that helps to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support the body's natural healing processes. In a reiki session, the practitioner channels healing energy through their hands to the client (virtually or in-person) with the intention of rebalancing the client’s energy. This leads to improved health at the level of the mind, body, and spirit. Reiki is often used in conjunction with conventional therapy treatments, and many people find it to be a soothing and relaxing experience.

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a psychotherapy approach developed to help individuals recover from a number of mental health concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, negative beliefs, and phobias. EMDR is particularly used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and chronic/complex trauma. EMDR is based on the idea that traumatic or overwhelming memories can become "stuck" in the brain, leading to symptoms such as flashbacks, anxiety, emotional distress, and low self-esteem. The therapy aims to help individuals by using bilateral stimulation through eye movements, audio, or tapping to help the brain reprocess the traumatic memory, allowing the person to reduce their emotional overwhelm, get unstuck, and make life, in general, less stressful.

When relevant, I incorporate attachment-based EMDR, a therapeutic approach that recognizes the impact of early relationships and attachment patterns in shaping an individual's development and well-being. This approach is centered on understanding how early experiences with caregivers have contributed to an individual’s beliefs, emotions, and behaviors in relationships.

EMDR can be administered in two different formats: weekly 60-minute therapy sessions or the more concentrated four-hour EMDR Intensive. While both approaches are equally effective, the EMDR Intensive offers a more immersive experience, delivering faster results by eliminating transitions and enabling the client to remain deeply engaged in the therapeutic process.
